Below are some common questions I receive about web design, copywriting, coaching, and my services.
Read through the questions and feel free to contact me with more questions of your own!
Of course! We all have to start somewhere. While WordPress has a bit of a learning curve, it is the most popular content management system today and one I believe is well worth investing in and learning if you haven't already.
In addition to designing and developing websites, I offer clients CMS training so they're comfortable behind the scenes when it comes time to launch their new website.
Every website, like every business, is different. As such, my answer is a consistent "it depends."
Contact me with the details of your project and I'll be happy to provide you with an estimate.
Great question! WordPress.com is a popular blogging platform.
WordPress.org is a self-hosted open-source platform used for blogs and websites.
The websites I design and develop are for WordPress.org websites only. If you've been using WordPress.com, I would highly suggest switching to WordPress.org if you're ready to take more control of your online presence. I've helped clients switch from WordPress.com to WordPress.org, so please let me know if this is something you're interested in doing!
No. Some designers offer partial, starter, or mini-site options, but due to the resources and time involved in my custom website builds, I only develop full sites that I am able to see through to completion when the project is started. Once a site has launched, I offer ongoing maintenance plan options to clients who want and need ongoing support.
Many WordPress developers do not customize pre-existing templates or other developers’ themes, myself included - I build on new installs and use my own framework.
Absolutely! I understand that for many web hosting can be confusing. Before starting with a new client, I provide details on web hosting, who I recommend to make our process as easy and efficient as possible, and explain that you do not have to set up your web hosting until we reach the final stages of developing your new website 🙂
Having started my WordPress journey in 2011, I have completed 30+ websites over the years in multiple settings. This year I made the leap to running my business full-time, having previously freelanced and worked as a full-time web developer for an agency.
The websites I have developed have been a combination of custom sites and sites customized from themes. The majority being custom, which is all I do now.
My portfolio will be updated in the coming months as I'm officially transitioning into marketing my services full-time now. I have and continue to work with wonderful people, so I'm eager to share what we've created together as soon as I can! For those wondering about my agency work and unfamiliar with the agency world - while I've developed a number of sites through my previous full-time work, it would be a violation to share that work outside of the company. As such, keep an eye on my portfolio page to see more of my work in the coming months.
