Permission? A sign? The right time?
You may not feel like you know yourself yet. You may not feel like you know exactly what matters yet. Despite that, know that you’re always growing and changing, learning and adapting. Remember that the person you were 1000, 100, 10 days – even 1 day ago – has evolved into the person you are right now with each passing moment.
You may be happy with the path you’ve been traveling. You may have taken what you see as a “wrong turn” here or there. If you recognize that something doesn’t feel right to you anymore, you can make changes that are better aligned with who you are right now.
I wrote the first version of this post back in June of 2017 and it still resonates with me. I’m regularly in need of this reminder and appreciate the extra push to keep from staying stagnant just because the future is looking a little hazy.
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”Maya Angelou
I love this quote and following this advice makes each day and every decision a little easier. I’m trying to remember in each moment that I do, indeed, try to do the best I can and I don’t always know enough to do more. Don’t wait for some grand change to be thrust upon you to take action in the here and now and, if needed, try again later.
