You better believe that! Acknowledge, appreciate, and honor the things that make you – YOU. Embrace the sheer joy of being yourself and infuse your personality and uniqueness into the places you go, people you meet, services you offer, and messages you have to share.
When You Need It Most
I’m happy to say that I am in a place right now where I am celebrating my personal strengths often (not all the time, but often). I will admit, however, that I tend to forget this piece of advice when I need to hear it most. In general, for myself and others, I think that happens a lot.
If I were to guess, I would say forgetting this probably has a lot to do with why we find ourselves in a place where we need the advice in the first place – in negative environments, around toxic people, sustaining defeatist mentalities, and so on.
I also recognize that our receptiveness to ideas like this can change by the month, week, day, or even hour and that sometimes we really can’t have too many reminders of why who we are is not only okay but something to be celebrated.
Share What You Need
I’m a big believer in “sharing what you need” because chances are pretty high that someone out there could benefit from it too. I might not necessarily “need” this piece of advice right now, but I know I will again (whether it’s days, weeks, or months in the future). So why wait? I’m sharing this now, as much for you if you need it at this moment as for me when I need it again in the future.
